A Guide to Salvation by New Life Tabernacle

Salvation - What is it?

Saved from what and by whom?

God is a Holy God, meaning God is without sin and is totally righteous. However, we are NOT righteous1. Ever since Adam and Eve’s sin of rebellion and disobedience to God2, we also find ourselves , being their offspring3, separated from any real relationship with God. The inherited “sin nature”, which is thoroughly ingrained and active in our spiritual DNA, continuously steers us away from coming under God’s authority and reconciling with Him.

According to Romans 6:234, the payment for sin is death. However, it is not God’s will for any to perish, but that all would be saved5. Yes, God in His faithfulness and love towards us provided a means by which we can once again come into complete and eternal communion with Him -- Jesus Christ!6 Jesus Christ is God’s remedy for both the power of sin in our lives, and the payment for our wrong doing. Christ Jesus’ sinless and sacrificial life, lived out as God’s spotless and appointed sacrificial lamb7, has provided a perfect atonement (payment) for your sin and mine. We can now be eternally reconciled to God through the receiving of the gift of His own son, Jesus, who carried our sin upon Himself, nailing it to His cross.

How can I become "saved"?
