The college years are ones of exploration and individual growth.
Whether a person is actually attending college or not, this is a
time when the individual begins to develop a real and personal faith,
one that doesn't depend on his or her parents. As a result, these
years can be exciting and confusing, fun and anxious.
There is a pattern that has been developing over the last few decades.
People have been graduating from high school and disappearing from
the church. According to a survey by the George Barna research group,
although over half of them attended church regularly as teenagers,
only 30 percent of people in their twenties attend church in a typical
week.
The College Ministry at New Life Tabernacle exists to provide an
opportunity for college-age people (student or working, married or
single) to continue to grow in their faith during these years instead
of abandoning it. By offering various opportunities to explore their
faith, nlcc (New Life College and Career) strives to be the bridge
that many young adults will cross in their journey toward a personal
faith in Christ.
